Why Are They Still Catholic?

  /   Tuesday January 07, 2003

James Fitzpatrick has two great articles on Catholic Exchange on why dissidents remain in the Church.

The first article suggests that the dissidents, in wanting “laity” to have a voice in governing the Church, really mean that they, personally want to determine what the Church will teach and do. This kind of goes in line with “They want freedom of religion, but they don’t want to let anyone else have it.”

The second article tells the story of a lady who openly admitted that she remains in the Church simply because she thinks she has more influence from the inside. I have to wonder why such a person has an undying interest in changing the Church. She could just as well get out.
