David Ancell's Virtual Home

About

If you are reading this, then maybe you’re either bored or have mistaken this page for the home page of a celebrity. Seriously, though, my name is David Ancell. I was born in a small town in southeast Missouri named Sikeston. It’s known for the restaurant that is the Home of Throwed Rolls. I lived there until my graduation from high school in 1993 and then want on to college and then pharmacy school at the University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss. I graduated in 1999 with my Doctor of Pharmacy degree and am now a pharmacist. After graduation, I lived and worked in Memphis, Tennessee for ten years before marrying my lovely wife Yana. I moved to the Raleigh-Durham area in North Carolina just before our wedding on August 8, 2009. In September 2010, Yana and I moved to Nashville, Tennessee where we currently live. We have two sons.

Most important to me is to love and serve God and his Church. I did not grow up going to church, but somehow God gave me the grace to seek him. I have been Catholic since my baptism in 1991, and it is my desire to make Jesus Christ more known and loved. I believe that the Catholic Church is the Church founded by Christ, and I believe all that the Church teaches, including the more difficult teachings that our media loves to ridicule. I love to talk to people about it, and in fact I was involved in RCIA, the process by which people enter the Church, for a number of years. I love to go to weekday Mass and Eucharistic Adoration when I can. My spiritual life has been greatly helped by the practice of frequent confession. I say this not to boast on myself, but because I want all to know about the great graces that God has made available to those who seek.

You could say that I am an electroholic. I enjoy just about anything that consumes electricity. At one time, I was a fan of Microsoft Windows, but I switched to Macintosh in 2006 and never looked back. Doing desktop publishing and audio and video editing are a lot of fun for me. My wife and I love to travel, and we have been many places together since we’ve known each other. Besides that, we love to hang out with friends, especially Catholics who are trying to live their faith.  I also enjoy running (but not anything close to a marathon) and bike riding when I have a chance.
