Copyrighting Mother Teresa’s Name

  /   Wednesday July 09, 2003

Mother Teresa wished that her name not be used after her death without the permission of her successor. It appears that in order to fulfill this request the Missionaries of Charity are trying to copyright her name. It’s quite understandable, but I must wonder if, in the event of the canonization of Mother Teresa, they would stop someone from naming their new parish St. Teresa of Calcutta or otherwise try to charge a royalty.
